Downcast: the best podcast downloader

Hey podcast fans, here’s a podcast app I’ve been using for a few months. It’s called Downcast and it, by far, exceeds the capabilities of iTunes.

Wired magazine called it the best podcast catcher around. The only downfall is that it costs $2. In my opinion, it’s worth the money.

DJ TechTools  |  Exclusive Look: Allen & Heath Xone K2

Nice looking piece of hardware. It’s an Allen and Heath so you know it’s quality stuff. I must say though, I’m partial to Native Instruments hardware these days because I don’t have to fight with custom mapping.

New entry level Pioneer mixer looking solid

Looks like Pioneer came out with a nice, affordable, quality mixer. 2 channels and lots of aux inputs.

We’ve been a bit quiet on the tumble posts but rest assured, we’ve been busy with the music.

We just got back from Burning Man. Everyone asked how it was. The quick answer is that it was awesome. Burning Man is always awesome.

Unfortunately, we were only there for three nights but three great nights. Actually, I should say three great days as we spent a lot of our time dancing at places such as Distrikt, play)a(skool and Robot Heart.

While dancing was great, DJing on the playa was the real highlight. I (Ticho) only had one gig this year but it was amazing. It was the first time Gonter and I DJed together as Club mU at Burning Man and it is a gig that I will never forget.

Despite just arriving on the Playa we trekked over to the Darwin Fish Tank for the gig Friday afternoon. I played there last year and it was insane. I was sure not to get my hopes up as lots of things can go wrong in terms of scheduling. We got there, had some cocktails, danced, hung out with the beautiful Darwin fishes. Funny enough, both DJs before us lived in Burlington at some point. Even 3,000 miles away, we were at home.

As soon as our set started, it was obvious that “it was on.” I started rocking some tunes and Gonter was out on the street dragging people inside. WOW. So much fun. So much tequila!

My set last year was fantastic but I chalked it up to luck. To have another home run validated all my hard work.
